BSc IBA
Rotterdam School of Management
A truly special International Business Administration degree with a focus on strategic thinking and analytical decision-making.
MSc Business Intelligence
Maastricht University
A deep dive into making smart decisions using big data, focusing on machine learning and working with unstructured data.
MSc Management
London Business School
A internationally-recognized comprehensive management programme that focuses on establishing both hard- and soft-skills across all management domains.
In many ways, I am the prototypical business student. I excelled in the IB Diploma Programme, earning 42 out of 45 points with a subject selection including HL Mathematics, HL Physics, HL Economics, and HL German B alongside a diverse selection of volunteer work through the CAS programme. I then moved straight into the Bachelor’s in International Business Administration from the Rotterdam School of Management at Erasmus University, where a rigorous academic introduced me to the fundamentals of business – from Finance and Strategic Management to Organisational Behaviour and Human Resource Management. Ultimately, I graduated Summa Cum Laude. Now, I’m at London Business School studying for the Master’s in Management, continuing my academic and professional trajectory.
I stand out from the crowd, however, due to my insatiable curiosity and passion for data analytics and machine learning. This curiosity has been my driving factor throughout my academic and professional career and has consistently pushed me out of my comfort zone and into new challenges. After RSM, for instance, I found that I missed the mathematical rigour of my IB Diploma. So, rather than continuing straight into the traditional business master’s degree, I went on a tangent and applied to a Masters in Business Intelligence and Smart Services from Maastricht University. To complement my academic course load, I started working for Hosokawa Alpine A.G. as a Junior Sales Analyst.
Both of these roles allowed me to expand my expertise in mathematical modelling, machine learning, and AI – both from an academic perspective as well as in real-world applications. During this year, I trained custom ML models for a variety of industries, including sales opportunity win propensity prediction, revenue forecasting, resource allocation, the causal estimation of depression prevalence in the UK, and the the prediction of social media “firestorms”.
My admittedly very eclectic but rigorous academic background has shaped my approach to problem-solving and innovation and I am eager to use my time at London Business School and beyond to explore how data-driven insights can transform strategic decision-making in order to create meaningful, real-world impact.
